Mary Zaus is a globetrotting creative artist based in Augsburg, Germany whose works are currently hanging in at least 8 different countries around the world. Try to find them during your own travels!
Mary paints primarily on car parts salvaged from the junkyards: hoods, (bonnets), trunk (boot or dickey) lids, as well as motorcycle gas tanks.
Her themes encompass music, motorcycles, travel, nostalgia, native tribes, freedom, rebellion, revolution, counterculture, vintage esthetics, fashion, love, sex, eroticism, pornography, drugs, dance, sports, world heritage sites, natural landscapes, flora and fauna, Norwegian Trolls, and more.
Future themes will include: The Roaring 20’s, Berlin, Japanese Manga Comics, Miss Fisher, Rastafarians, Skateboard History, the Isle of Man, Hamburg’s Reeperbahn and much more….

Mary has drawn comics - and comix - for most of her life. Later she experimented with spray paint and street art graffiti techniques. But the spray cans were too imprecise for the art she wanted to create, and so she began using an airbrush to decorate walls, skateboard decks, refrigerators, trash cans, toilet seats and other objects. Her technique has now been refined to using custom-made stencils of both her own freehand drawings and popular images that portray the culture and characters relevant to her works. She also incorporates found objects, affixing 3-dimensional items to embellish some works, or using industrial construction materials to stencil background patterns.
